Pastor Michael McBride (known as “Pastor Mike”) is a native of San Francisco and has been active in ministry for over 20 years. In March 2012, he became the Director for the LIVE FREE Campaign with Faith in Action, a campaign led by hundreds of faith congregations throughout the United States committed to addressing gun violence and mass incarceration of young people of color. He is one of the national leaders in the movement to implement public health and community centered gun violence prevention programs, which have contributed in 50% reductions of gun related homicides in Oakland and many other cities across the country. He is a co-founder of Black Church PAC and the National Black Brown Gun Violence Prevention Consortium which work to center black and brown gun violence prevention practitioners and scale up life-saving interventions related to urban and communal violence.
Regarded as a national faith leader, active in the Ferguson uprisings and many subsequent uprisings, he helps bridge, train and support millennials and religious institutions working on racial justice and black liberation. Pastor McBride has served on a number of local and national task forces with the White House and Department of Justice regarding gun violence prevention, boys and men of color and police-community relationships. In 2016 he was appointed as an Advisor on President Obama’s Faith Based Advisory Council for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. He has been a frequent contributor to the New York Times, the Washington Post, MSNBC, CNN, the Huffington Post and many other media outlets providing commentary on issues related to faith and racial justice.

Danny Sjursen is a retired U.S. Army officer, contributing editor at Antiwar.com, senior fellow at the Center for International Policy (CIP), and director of the Eisenhower Media Network (EMN). His work has appeared in the NY Times, LA Times, The Nation, Huff Post, The Hill, Salon, The American Conservative, Mother Jones, ScheerPost and Tom Dispatch, among other publications.
He served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and later taught history at West Point. He is the author of a memoir and critical analysis of the Iraq War, "Ghostriders of Baghdad: Soldiers, Civilians, and the Myth of the Surge" and "Patriotic Dissent: America in the Age of Endless War." Tom Leung is the founder of Nerds for Humanity.
He has a degree in economics and history from Bowdoin College with honors and a masters degree in business administration from Harvard University. He has been working in software product development since 1999 at startups as well as large tech companies including Microsoft, YouTube, and Google.
In 2020, he co-founded the Of The People with Ian Shafer. Tom and Ian wondered why we don't have more credible people to choose from in elected offices. They decided to use their combined 40 years of experience building internet technology products to try and build a new platform to energize democracy at the grassroots level.

Ray McGovern is a former CIA officer turned political activist.
McGovern was a CIA analyst from 1963 to 1990, and in the 1980s chaired National Intelligence Estimates and prepared the President's Daily Brief. He received the Intelligence Commendation Medal at his retirement, returning it in 2006 to protest the CIA's involvement in torture.
In 2003, together with other former CIA employees, McGovern founded the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS). The organization is dedicated to analyzing and criticizing the use of intelligence, at first concerning the Iraq War. In the same year, McGovern confronted Donald Rumsfeld openly and live-broadcast by CNN interrogating him about his lies concerning weapons of mass destruction, a dispute later called the "vivisection of Donald Rumsfeld" by Keith Olbermann.
McGovern's post-retirement work includes commenting for Consortium News, RT, and Sputnik News, among other outlets, on intelligence and foreign policy issues.

Donna Nevel, a community psychologist and educator, is a founding member, with Elly Bulkin, of Jews Against Anti-Muslim Racism; a member of the coordinating team of Facing the Nakba; and was a co-founder, with Marilyn Kleinberg Neimark, of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice. She is a co-director of PARCEO, a community resource, education and research center rooted in principles of Participatory Action Research (PAR).
George Bisharat is a professor of law at Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, where he teaches criminal procedure and practice, law and anthropology, Islamic law, and law in Middle East societies. His research and writing focus on international legal aspects of Palestine/Israel and on U.S. policies toward the Middle East. He is a frequent commentator for media in the U.S. and abroad, and his op-ed pieces have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, Ha'aretz, and other newspapers. He is a member of the editorial committee of the Journal of Palestine Studies, and a board member of the Transnational Arab Research Institute.

Ground Game Texas exists to organize and mobilize voters community-by-community, collaborating with partners on the ground to meet voters at their doors, hear their concerns, and highlight popular issues that are on the ballot.
Julie Oliver (Executive Director) is a healthcare finance expert who ran two aspirational, 100% PAC-free campaigns for the US House of Representatives in Texas’ 25th congressional district. In addition to her role as Executive Director of Ground Game Texas, Julie serves her community by volunteering weekly at a local food bank and in a volunteer board position for DivInc and has two decades of healthcare finance and tax law experience. She received an undergraduate degree in Accounting from UT Arlington and a law degree from UT School of Law, and lives in Austin with her husband, Matt, five cats, a dog, and their kids.
Mike Siegel (Political Director) has served the people for the last twenty-one years, first in the classroom as a public school teacher and teacher's union organizer, and more recently in the courtroom as a civil rights lawyer and city attorney for the City of Austin. Mike ran for Congress in 2018 and 2020, and built broad grassroots coalitions that made hundreds of thousands of voter contacts and helped change the political context in the Texas 10th Congressional District. He is excited to put his shoulder to the wheel in his new capacity as political director for Ground Game Texas, where he will work to cultivate alliances and work for progressive change across the state of Texas.
